How to Write Expository Essays

Based on common core ELA writing standards for grades 6-12 and first-year college.

The "Student Success Essay Writing" online class covers all of the essays that are usually assigned in a college composition class. However, college readiness standards require K-12 students to also write expository essays. This course answers one very important, fundamental question: What abilities and competencies do students need for successful classroom writing? No written assignments to submit to the instructor in this course. However, students can post questions and interact on the discussion board. The instructor is always available to answer questions and provide additional information as necessary to support student learning.

As a result of taking this class, you will:
  • Learn to write expository essays step-by-step.
  • Get familiar with the writing process.
  • Learn from a dynamic college English instructor with over 20 years’ experience who has recently published six books on grammar and proofreading, and actively freelances as a writer and editor.
